Overview
Pharming is seeking to hire an Executive Director, Sales (Joenja), to lead and motivate an ultra-rare sales team focusing on identifying new APDS patients and ensuring patients gain access to Joenja. Our goal is to find a candidate with a proven track record of leading high-performing sales teams in the rare and/or ultra rare disease states with deep understanding of market dynamics, patient access, and regulatory environments. Successful execution will involve being a visionary leader that will balance strategic planning and tactical execution in driving growth and market expansion. The Executive Director, Sales (Joenja) will be reporting directly to the President, General Manager and have a team of direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director, Sales (Joenja) will be responsible for a wide variety of matters in support of Pharming’s growth as we increase the number of both pipeline and marketed products.
Core functions include:

Co-create and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives and scale patient identification process and treatment access.

Lead, develop and coach Regional Business Directors to build high- performing sales individuals and teams.

Lead and manage a team of Regional Business Directors to achieve sales goals and objectives while managing sales budgets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key immunologists, healthcare providers or other stakeholders who treat APDS ensuring robust partnerships in the rare disease space.

Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs and competitive activities, identifying risks and to keep the company agile.

Ensure all sales activities comply.

This is a remote/field-based role.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life science or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with experience in rare disease sales preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in launching new pharmaceutical products, leading launches from pre-commercialization to post-launch phases, as well as leading, scaling, and managing sales teams with consistent performance of exceeding and/or achieving revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of patient journey in rare disease, including diagnosis, treatment options and barriers to access with a focus on improving patient outcomes and experience.
- Strong ability to analyze data to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks and threats.
- Strong leadership, team-building skills with a focus on developing talent.
- Highly adaptable and resilient when change occurs with the ability to pivot as market dynamics shift.
- Ability to understand complex diseases and markets.
- Strong ability to collaborate across functions.
- Strong strategic influence and stakeholder management experience.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen in balancing patient needs with long-term business growth and sustainability.
Travel Requirements
- Must have the ability to travel 40% to 60% within the U.S. depending on the geography and business needs of the given territory; includes overnight travel.
Salary Range
Pharming takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s work experience, training, and education, as well as the scope of the role, complexity, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level.
The base salary range for this job is from $265,000.00 TO $295,000.00 per year.
