Purpose of the role:
The Corporate Communications Manager leads the development and planning of largely external strategic corporate communications and PR activities, with a focus on messaging that supports corporate objectives and achievements. You will be responsible for further developing Pharming’s profile and reputation with investors, analysts, the media, partner-organizations, and other external stakeholders. You will work closely within a small team, with colleagues in IR (Investor Relations), Internal Communications and the like.
Scope: Although not currently a people-manager position, the Corporate Communications Manager is a manager-level position, and requires significant relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute the communication strategy and development of communications materials;
- Develop in collaboration with external suppliers, a detailed timeline of planned PR activities to build and maintain best-in-class engagement with key stakeholders including investors and analysts and to curate Pharming’s corporate reputation increasing proactive and reactive print, online, and broadcast media coverage;
- Create investor-specific materials to respond to unique requests, manage the timely and accurate preparation of a wide range of financial communication content for external reporting purposes at the Group level including investor presentations, web content and other relevant materials i.e., press releases, AFM/SEC submissions, annual reports, ad-hoc reports, Q&A and FAQ’s. Ensuring quality control of press releases and international brand reputation;
- Collaborate with external suppliers, Compliance, Finance and Legal counsel to ensure compliance on SEC and AFM reporting disclosures, and regulatory matters;
- Monitoring industry and competitor developments, alert management and prepare proactive and reactive plans as needed;
- Work with and maintain good relationships with external IR/PR vendors and suppliers;
- Assist with certain Investor Relations activities including the organization of investor days, capital market days, conferences, and international roadshows;
- Act as a point of contact for Pharming Group, supporting Pharming relationships with analysts and investors;
- Writing/editing/publishing thought leadership pieces for immediate and planned release to ensure a strong and positive Share of Voice and awareness for the Pharming corporate brand in key corporate media titles;
- Developing media networks and building contacts with key media representatives (including science-based, trade and other journalists and stakeholders);
- Position and profile key members of Pharming’s leadership with the media and external stakeholders, curating an image as having skilfully managed the company’s transition and position Pharming as an authority in the industry, drive growth and shareholder value;
- Develop clear and compelling written and oral communication in line with the Corporate Communications Strategy;
- Measure, evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of financial communications programs/strategy;
Your profile:
- At least 5-8+ year of directly relevant Corporate Communications and/or Investor Relations or similar experience, within the Biopharmaceutical (or closely adjacent) Industry (corporate, PR/IR agency or consultancy);
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree, in Science/Business/Communications or similar discipline;
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship management skills;
- Strong IT skills, including PowerPoint and Excel;
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills;
- Awareness of financial markets and regulation;
- Managerial experience is a plus.
