Purpose of the role
The Facility Manager performs a leading role in the efficient and effective management of the Pharming facilities in Leiden. In addition, the Facility Manager coordinates and executes operational tasks in relation to office management and supply management for the Leiden offices.   Areas of Responsibility
Facilities:  
- You perform a leading role in developing, implementing and monitoring standards, strategies and other activities for the effective management and optimal use of the Pharming facilities in Leiden (other than the technical equipment-related activities of the Lab Coordinator at the Darwinweg), identifying and realizing opportunities for increasing efficiency and realizing synergies.
- In consultation with Pharming’s Environmental Sustainability expert/ESG program coordinator, you ensure that all facility-related activities meet applicable environmental sustainability standards adopted by Pharming.
- You draft the multi-year maintenance plan ensuring that facilities and equipment are maintained in the optimal condition at all times and from there initiate, prepare and execute required investments for the Leiden Vondellaan (and act as back-up for the Lab Coordinator at the Darwinweg). You also coordinate and monitor the timely and accurate execution of the approved plan
- You identify technical and operational roadblocks and develop creative and sustainable solutions to avoid these and to improve processes and lower costs
- You propose and coordinate facility projects such as renovations, moving, improvements to infrastructure and sustainability initiatives
- You request quotes, compare suppliers and monitors the execution of tasks for all facility contracts at the Leiden offices (cleaning, security, technical installations, etc.), proposing and implementing strategies for reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
- You coordinate facilities together with the F&E managers at other Pharming locations (including BME and Warren, NJ) and develop a global vision on the optimal use and management of all Pharming facilities.
- You maintain regular contacts with these F&E managers and signal and collaborate on realizing possible synergies in global facility initiatives/improvements, as well as provide back-up support if applicable
- You are the first point of contact for property manager/housing manager/fellow lease companies /reception in relation to facility areas and office management (e.g. BHV, waste management, shared spaces, reserving of meeting rooms and catering requests, visitors and deliveries, contact list, parking, e-passes, gym access and cleaning requests)
- Contact point for employees and property managers in relation to repairs, stock and maintenance of i.e. office furniture, lighting, meeting room hardware, as well as waste management and equipment failure of i.e. dishwasher, air conditioning, coffee machines.
- You provide input for the budget request for facilities and BHV support.
- You provide data in relation to maintenance, safety & security and sustainability to internal stakeholders.
Safety:  
- You are the central contact point for HSE globally. You coordinate HSE activities (e.g. RI&E) in collaborations with the departments and HR and responsible for the safety incident notification system.
- You are responsible for keeping the HSE Intranet page up to date
- You propose, advice, implement and monitor improvements focused on safety and sustainability, including security and access management
- You represent Pharming at the (Darwinweg) safety committee and sustainability committee.
- You coordinate the BHV teams for both Leiden offices, including setting up a training schedule, rosters and budget requests
Office management: 
- Office management tasks such as supply management (office supplies, stationary, coffee etc.), courier shipments, mail, travel accounts and business cards

Functional knowledge & experience:
Knowledge:
- MBO4/HBO in the direction of facility management
- Fluent in Dutch & English
- Knowledge of sustainability
- Technical knowledge
- Good project management skills
Experience:
- Min. 3-5 years relevant working experience
- Experience in sustainability projects is preferred
- Experience in building management, supplier management and facility processes
