Purpose of the Role
As a Lab Associate at Pharming, you will play a key role in the design, planning, and execution of laboratory activities that support the development of our products throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with the Lab Manager and CMC team to ensure that all tasks are completed in compliance with quality regulations and within agreed timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently design, plan and execute procedures, analyze the resulting data and report results.
  • Plan and prioritize work in collaboration with the Lab Manager/CMC Team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work in accordance to Pharming’s quality system; write SOP’s or WI’s and other documents necessary for carrying out (laboratory-related) matters.
  • Identify shortcomings in current procedures within own area and suggests and implements improvements.
  • Write and/or review development, qualification and validation protocols and reports, if needed.
  • Provide technical guidance to Lab Assistants and interns.
  • Perform support activities related to shipments (to CLOs) and reference standards.
  • Participate in Analytical teams, keep and communicate a clear oversight of his/her activities.
  • Ensure transfer of procedures to internal (Analytical/non Clinical) and/or external stakeholders (e.g. CMO).
  • Keep up to date with his/her specific technological knowledge and requirements in his/her own field.
  • Can perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment / can move along with the demand/organization.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • OR MBO with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)


Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment and/or data analysis
  • Experience with analytical methods for protein characterization, sample cryopreservation, or similar is a plus
  • Industry experience is an advantage
