The role:
The Legal Counsel plays a vital role in providing comprehensive legal support to Pharming’s Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Clinical departments. This position focuses on the proactive identification and mitigation of legal risks. Key responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and executing contracts and legal documents, as well as managing the administrative functions of the Legal Department. The Legal Counsel also offers practical, business-oriented legal advice on a broad range of commercial law issues to all relevant departments.

 

  • Acts as a business partner and proactively shares best practices, legal expertise and accurate legal advice to Pharming’s Research and Development department, Manufacturing and Clinical, thereby identifying and analyzing legal risks and proposing appropriate actions to secure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and policies.
  • Drafts, reviews and monitors the status of a wide range of agreements relevant to Pharming’s operations (including research collaboration agreements, service agreements, clinical trial agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements).
  • Provides clear practical and thoughtful legal advice that enables the business partners to achieve their objectives.
  • Provides training to relevant departments on legal and regulatory requirements which are relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Secures IP protection for all R&D activities and confidentiality in all activities and interactions with third parties.
  • Prepares legal documents and corporate correspondence.
  • Ensures that the company in fulfilling its compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops appropriate legal templates, internal policies, SOP’s and processes. Works actively to align the legal objectives and business collaboratively.
  • Participates in projects from a legal perspective.
  • Instructs outside counsel where appropriate and supervises the provision of cost effective, business-oriented legal advice.

 

 

Your Profile:
Knowledge

  • Master’s degree in law (LL.M.)
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable (inter)national contracting law and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good organizational prioritization and time-management skills;
  • High level of professional ethics and integrity.


Experience:

  • At least 4-8 years of experience as mid-level counsel or similar role;
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or similar - ideally including Medical Affairs;
  • European experience is essential, ideally including Dutch (but not a must);
  • Experienced in supporting operations functions and knowledge of relevant contracts;
  • Sound experience in reviewing and drafting contracts in English;
  • Fluency in / Native levels of English;
