The role:
The Regional Legal Counsel (RoW) plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the legal matters of a specific geographical region (Rest of World region, including APAC and excluding EU & US). Key responsibilities: Legal Advice and Support regional management team; Contract management; Litigation management; Healthcare Compliance; Risk Management and Training and Education. He or she provides effective, business-oriented day-to-day legal advice to all business partners on a broad range of business law matters.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a business partner and proactively shares best practices, legal expertise, and accurate legal advice mainly with the commercial and medical affairs team on new as well as ongoing commercial strategies, thereby identifying and analyzing legal risks and proposing appropriate actions to secure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and policies.
- Drafts, reviews and monitors the status of a wide range of agreements. relevant to the business partners.
- Provides clear practical and thoughtful legal advice that enables the business partners to achieve their objectives.
- Provides training to commercial and medical affairs staff on legal and regulatory requirements which are relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ensures that the company is fulfilling its compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develops appropriate legal templates, internal policies, SOP’s and processes. Works actively to align the legal objectives and business collaboratively.
- Participates in projects from a legal perspective.
- Instructs outside counsel where appropriate and supervise the provision of cost effective, business-oriented legal advice.
- Supports the Senior Legal Counsel and senior management at a strategic level to deliver results.
Your Profile:
Knowledge
- Master’s degree in law (LL.M.)
- Excellent knowledge of applicable (inter)national contracting law and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good organizational prioritization and time-management skills;
- High level of professional ethics and integrity.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience working as mid-level legal counsel or similar role.
- Must have experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry;
- Must have cross-border experience;
- Ideally experience and / or strong affinity with the APAC region;
- Experienced in supporting commercial operations functions and comfortable dealing with fluid regulatory landscape;
- Sound experience in reviewing and drafting contracts in English;
- Full Fluency in / Native levels of English;
