The Role:

We are seeking a strategic and process-driven Senior Director Source to Pay (S2P) to own and optimize the end-to-end S2P function at Pharming Group. 
This role will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, financial governance, and digital transformation across procurement, accounts payable, and cash disbursement processes.
As Senior Director S2P you will oversee the full lifecycle from sourcing through payment and cash management, ensuring alignment with internal controls, audit standards, and compliance frameworks. You will lead the Accounts Payable function, champion system integration and automation (Coupa, SAP S/4HANA), and partner cross-functionally to deliver cost efficiency, transparency, and performance improvement.

In this role, you will also manage a team of approximately five professionals across Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Operational Cash Management. You will provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance oversight to ensure seamless execution of S2P processes, foster cross-functional collaboration, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Your leadership will be key in aligning team efforts with organizational goals, driving operational efficiency.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and continuously improve the end-to-end S2P process, ensuring strong financial governance, cost discipline, and compliance with accounting and audit standards.
  • Manage Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor communication, and issue resolution, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and control.
  • Own the configuration, operation, and optimization of the Coupa platform, ensuring seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA and other financial systems.
  • Define and maintain policies, procedures, and SOPs for sourcing, purchasing, invoice management, payments, and cash forecasting.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, IT, and Internal Audit to ensure SOX compliance, internal control effectiveness, and audit readiness.
  • Implement automation, analytics, and data-driven controls to enhance efficiency, transparency, and cost visibility across the S2P process.
  • Drive master data governance across vendor, cost center, and GL structures, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and control over spend categorization.
  • Develop and deliver regular performance, spend, and cash management reports, tracking KPIs and identifying improvement and savings opportunities.
  • Monitor key S2P metrics (e.g., invoice matching, approval turnaround, payment performance, working capital impact) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead internal training and change management efforts to drive adoption of updated processes, systems, and cost control measures.
  • Act as key liaison with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Internal Audit for issue resolution, system enhancements, and control testing.
  • Support broader Finance Transformation and Digital initiatives, with a focus on automation, analytics, and cash optimization.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Credentials (preferred): CPA, RA, CMA, or equivalent finance qualification.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance Operations or Process Transformation, with deep expertise in S2P and Accounts Payable.
  • Proven track record in end-to-end process design, cost optimization, system governance, and cash management, especially within an ERP-integrated environment (e.g. SAP, Coupa, Ariba, Oracle).
  • Demonstrated experience in policy and SOP creation, continuous improvement, internal control frameworks, and audit preparedness.
  • Strong background in financial controls, cash forecasting, cost management, reconciliations, and compliance (e.g. SOX, IFRS).
  • Experience leading system implementation and significant enhancement projects.
  • Deep understanding of invoice-to-payment flows, including accruals, VAT, and 3-way matching.
  • Experience in dynamic, fast-paced biotech environments
