Purpose of the Role
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a key role in driving value across a diverse global procurement portfolio by supporting and executing sourcing and contracting activities in close collaboration with cross-functional and regional stakeholders.
This role contributes to measurable business impact through structured sourcing approaches, including competitive tendering, supplier consolidation, preferred supplier frameworks, tail spend optimization, and effective commercial negotiations.
With a primary focus on services-based and indirect spend, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports strategic RFPs and broader spend optimization initiatives. The position also helps advance procurement maturity by leveraging e-sourcing tools, strengthening contract management practices, and applying data-driven insights, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
Areas of responsibility
- Support and execute sourcing initiatives across a broad global spend portfolio, including strategic RFPs and tail spend optimization.
- Work with global stakeholders across regions and functions to understand business needs, sourcing priorities, and value opportunities.
- Focus mainly on services based and indirect spend categories, including professional services, outsourcing, external workforce, consulting, technology services, and other business services.
- Identify and deliver value creation opportunities, including cost savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, commercial improvements, and increased spend under management.
- Analyze tail spend and fragmented supplier usage to identify consolidation, preferred supplier, and process improvement opportunities.
- Support the development and adoption of preferred supplier strategies to reduce fragmentation, improve leverage, and increase compliance.
- Apply structured sourcing methodologies, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, e sourcing events, and competitive negotiations.
- Support stakeholders in defining requirements, evaluation criteria, sourcing strategies, and supplier selection approaches.
- Conduct supplier market analysis and assess supplier proposals, pricing structures, commercial models, risks, and value opportunities.
- Support supplier negotiations and contribute to supplier evaluation and award recommendations with business stakeholders.
- Challenge demand, incumbent renewals, and single source requests where needed to improve competitiveness and value.
- Support sourcing related contract follow up to ensure negotiated commercial terms are properly reflected and aligned with business expectations.
- Use procurement tools effectively, including Coupa, contract repositories, spend analytics, dashboards, AI, and automation tools.
- Track and report sourcing savings, project progress, and procurement performance in alignment with Finance and business targets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing practices, templates, governance, processes, and ways of working.

Functional knowledge:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field.
- Good understanding of sourcing methodologies, competitive tendering, supplier selection, negotiation, and procurement best practices.
- Knowledge of e sourcing tools, procurement systems, and contract management principles.
- Strong analytical capability to assess spend data, supplier proposals, market trends, and sourcing scenarios.
- Ability to quantify savings, cost avoidance, commercial improvements, and value creation.
- Familiarity with procurement systems such as Coupa and ERP environments such as SAP preferred.
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, spend analytics tools, dashboards, AI tools, or other digital procurement capabilities preferred.
- Good understanding of key commercial contract terms preferred.
- Procurement certification such as CIPS, NEVI or equivalent preferred.
Experience: - 4 to 7 years of experience in sourcing or procurement roles in an international environment.
- Proven experience running or supporting sourcing events, ideally using e-sourcing tools.
- Experience sourcing services based or indirect spend categories, such as professional services, outsourcing, external workforce, consulting, technology services, or other business services.
- Experience in commercial negotiations and supporting contract structuring with Legal and stakeholders.
- Experience analyzing spend data and identifying sourcing, supplier consolidation, or preferred supplier opportunities.
- Proven experience tracking and reporting savings, sourcing progress, and procurement performance metrics.
- Experience working cross functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Operations, and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with global or cross regional stakeholders preferred.
