Technical IFRS and External Reporting Manager

 

The role:
The Technical IFRS & External Reporting Manager acts as the internal subject matter expert on IFRS, technical accounting and external reporting. The role owns judgmental and complex accounting areas, related calculations and all external financial reporting deliverables of the Group. He / she supports the month end close on material and non-routine topics, ensures consistent application of IFRS and is accountable for the quality, completeness and timeliness of external reporting and related SOX-compliant documentation.


Areas of responsibility:

•    Prepare technical accounting position papers, accounting memos and conclusions for complex, non-routine and judgmental accounting matters.

•    Prepare and review complex accounting calculations, including share-based compensation, impairment assessments, lease modifications, convertible instruments, provisions and other technical IFRS areas.

•    Support the month end close by resolving technical accounting topics and reviewing material accounting entries, judgments and disclosures.

•    Own and coordinate all external financial reporting deliverables of the Group, including the Annual Report, IFRS Financial Statements, 20-F financial information, press releases with financial content, audit committee financial reporting materials, statutory financial statements and other required external filings.

•    Own, coordinate and review statutory financial statements and other external filings for relevant entities, including CBS reporting where applicable, and ensure timely and accurate submission.

•    Maintain and update accounting policies and technical guidance and support consistent application.

•    Drive continuous improvement of external reporting ad related processes and leads the assessment and implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements (e.g. IFRS 18).

•    Participate in improvement projects related to reporting, controls, documentation, SOX compliance etc.


Your profile:

Knowledge: 
•    Master’s degree, preferably in Auditing, Accounting, Finance or in a comparable study in combination with a professional qualification such as ACCA, RA, CPA or equivalent.
•    Strong knowledge of IFRS and external financial reporting.
•    Strong technical accounting skills, with eye for detail and first-time right mentality.
•    Experience with complex accounting calculations and accounting position papers.
•    Strong communication skills.
•    Familiar with SOX and the administrative documentation of the work performed.

Experience:

•    At least 5 years of proven experience in technical accounting, financial reporting or external audit.
•    Ideally working experience with a Big 4 audit firm and / or in a listed company environment.
•    Proven experience in owning and coordinating preparation of the Annual Report, IFRS Financial Statements, 20-F and statutory reporting in a listed company environment.
•    Working experience in a multinational, multicultural company
