Senior Director, FP&A

The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP FP&A, the Senior Director serves as the strategic finance partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, is a member of both the US Commercial Leadership Team and the US Executive Leadership Team and works regularly with the CEO and CFO on the company's most important commercial and investment decisions. This individual contributor position is both strategic and hands-on and is one of the most influential finance leadership roles below Vice President level.

Unlike many Commercial FP&A roles, this position extends well beyond forecasting. It combines commercial finance leadership, strategic planning, portfolio management, executive decision support, and organizational transformation. The successful candidate will help shape decisions that influence both Pharming's current commercial performance and its future growth trajectory.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the commercial finance agenda of a growing global biotech company at a pivotal stage in its evolution. Working with the CEO, CFO and CCO, the successful candidate will influence enterprise-wide decisions, support the commercialization of future pipeline assets, and help build a worldclass Commercial FP&A function. This role offers exceptional executive visibility, strategic impact, and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the organization.

We are seeking a leader who is intellectually curious, commercially astute and comfortable operating in an ambitious, evolving environment. This individual combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, builds credibility quickly and is confident challenging assumptions to improve business outcomes.  They thrive in environments where structure continues to evolve, bring clarity to complexity, and inspire confidence at the executive level. Above all, they are an entrepreneurial leader who builds high-performing teams and culture—not simply maintaining them.

Responsibilities

  • Be the trusted strategic finance advisor to the CCO and Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Provide executive-quality insight to the CEO and CFO on commercial performance, investments and long-range planning.
  • Lead commercial planning, forecasting, revenue modelling, gross-to-net and performance management for Pharming's largest business.
  • Support commercialization planning for pipeline assets and long-range portfolio strategy.
  • Provide financial leadership for licensing, partnership and selected business development opportunities.
  • Influence enterprise-level commercial and investment decisions through data drive insights, sound judgement and trusted executive partnerships.
  • Drive capital allocation decisions through rigorous scenario modelling and value-based analysis.
  • Modernize FP&A capabilities through improved analytics, automation and planning processes.
  • Champion a high-performance, collaborative and entrepreneurial finance culture.
  • Own the commercial planning process across the global portfolio, driving alignment between strategy, execution and financial performance.
  • Represent the Finance function on the US Extended Leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; Master's/MBA and CPA or CFA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance leadership within biotechnology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
  • At least five years of experience at the Senior Director or equivalent level partnering directly with executive commercial leaders.
  • Deep expertise in commercial finance, forecasting, pricing, market access, reimbursement and gross-to-net.
  • Experience supporting product launches, commercialization planning and pipeline assets.
  • Exposure to licensing, acquisitions or commercial due diligence is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding executive communication skills and ability to influence at C-suite level.
  • Experience in complex global matrix organizations.
  • Track record of building teams, capabilities and culture in high-growth environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes without formal authority across Commercial, Medical and Executive Leadership.
  • Demonstrated success operating in ambiguous, fast paced, entrepreneurial environments where priorities evolve quickly.
  • Naturally balances financial discipline with commercial opportunity and long-term value creation.
